What really is Winning?
What a great quote! Often times after a race, people ask me "did you win". The comment makes me smile

To Reflect
So in the whole scheme of things, the first birthday wish should go out to our mothers. After all, they are the ones the endured the childbirth process, not just for 9 months but gosh for over 18 years. My mother passed away over 7 years ago, but I still thank her on this day for having me and enduring some of that heart ache especially in my teen age years. My dad too is one special man in my life, not only did he end up raising 3 girls on his own, he was the one that taught me about passion, determination and dedication. My father was our rock! He was the best dad anyone could have wished for!
Next, to reflect on life, ahhhh yes life! To reflect on the people we have meet, to look at the great memories you have had, and to do a recheck on "are you heading in the right direction?" What changes need to be made in your life? Are you where god wants you?
And lastly, to say thank you to each one of my family and friends along my this life journey. There is always good with the bad or at least that is how I look at it verses bad with the good:) and as we all have had bad things happen, I do sit back today and thank god for the life he has given me the good and the bad:). My career, my lifestyle, my health, my Little Lainey (that is my dog she ranks right up there with my family!) and the special individuals that have touched my life. I want to say thank you to all those people for helping me in my life journey, I hope each one of you know how special you really are! I wish each one of you a great day and may you to reflect on things when your special day comes this year:) Cheers
Half Marathon Program Successful!
Much Success to the Half Marathoners!
Starting in January of this year, I led a 12 week half marathon class. It provided direction to runners in their preparation in the Trailbreaker half marathon on Saturday, March 27. We met 3 out of the 4 Saturdays for a group workout consisting of either a little speed or tempo work. Each runner received a daily training plan that worked around their own pacing and HR zones. 8 out of the 10 runners raced in the half marathon.
- Christine 1:53:05 PR by over 5 minutes
- Doron 1:57:00 PR by over 10 minutes
- Caitlin 1:59:30 first half marathon!
- Robin 2:00:43 first half marathon!
- Henry 2:05:54 welcome back to the running world!
- Deann 2:05:56 first half marathon!
- Brian 2:17:56 welcome back to the running world!
- Becky 2:18 first half marathon!
Congratulations to everyone and to each one of your success!

A weekend in Newport Beach, California
My plan to kick off the season was at the Huntington Beach half marathon which was today Sunday February 7th. Friday I ended up with flu like symptoms. I decided on still going, as who knows it could have just been a 24 hour thing. Unfortunately did not end up that way, spent the majority of time in bed on Saturday, periodically taking the all so famous pepto and trying to stay hydrated which does not work so well with the flu. Sunday came and I was finally feeling better, now better here is I finally did not have a nauseous feeling, I could at least eat half a bagel with cream cheese. So, I decided to at least start and see what happens.
