RUN STRONG Outside
Join Heather in a one hour weekly coached track workout. The focus will begin with proper running mechanics, learning running drills and technique that works for you and your movement patterns. Each session will build on one another and as it is encouraged to join all 3, runners are welcomed to join 1 session at a time. Workouts will be both on and off the track. While the focus is on running, strengthening muscles needed for running, working on your balance, building a strong core and improving your flexibility will also be addressed. Heather will cater to all abilities and levels with her structured workouts. Weekly workouts will be geared for various abilities and racing distances. A 1-3 mile time trial will be done to determine HR and pacing zones. A heart rate monitor is highly recommended

Much Success to the Half Marathoners!
Starting in January of this year, I led a 12 week half marathon class. It provided direction to runners in their preparation in the Trailbreaker half marathon on March 27th. We met 3 out of the 4 Saturdays for a group workout consisting of either a little speed or tempo work. Each runner received a daily training plan that worked around their own pacing and HR zones. 8 out of the 10 runners raced in the half marathon.
Christine 1:53:05 PR by over 5 minutes Doron 1:57:00 PR by over 10 minutes Caitlin 1:59:30 first half marathon! Robin 2:00:43 first half marathon! Henry 2:05:54 welcome back to the running world! Deann 2:05:56 first half marathon! Brian 2:17:56 welcome back to the running world! Becky 2:18 first half marathon!
Congratulations to everyone and to each one of your success!
Athlete Race Results The Birkie is a year-round lifestyle choice for thousands of outdoor fitness enthusiasts of all levels. From its signature ski race--the legendary American Birkebeiner--The Birkie has grown into an exciting array of fitness and recreational opportunities. The 50-kilometer Birkie Trail attracts skiers, runners, bikers, trekkers, and hikers, from casual day-trippers to elite superstars. Hosted by major-event specialists Hayward and Cable, Wisconsin, the Birkie is now an outdoor sports mecca, a series of great races, a fitness destination, and a lifestyle. Peter Reinhard - As his first time doing the full Birke, Peter finishes in a time of 3:26 even. Peter had a great season of skiing which then allowed him with limited run training to run a 1:36 half marathon at the Trail breaker just a few minutes off his PR, great work Peter! Bill McNamara - His first time back in the sport of skiing after losing over 35 pounds in over 15 years, Bill finished in a time of 5:19:21.2 after having some difficult time with cramps due to limited time on the snow. After a good week of rest and down time, Bill is gearing up for his 70.3 race in Rhode Island in July.
Emily Kratz - PR’ing at the Mercedes Half Marathon on Sunday February 14th in a time a 1:29:50 on a very hilly course! While Emily is on her journey to the 2010 Ironman World Championships this October, her current focus is on short course racing till the beginning of summer. Then participating at the Trail Breaker half marathon on tired legs, ran a time of 1:30:06 was just short of a PR, but a huge improvement considering this to be a true “just training through” race. It is at those times in a racing situation where you may not feel the best will help push you to be that mentally stronger
Jim O’Rourke - Running a 1:30:48 and 3rd in his age division, Jim is well off to a great start for several PR’s this year!
Andy Neary - Making huge improvements in his run times with a 17:52 5k in the off season over 30 seconds faster than his PR and running a 1:23:06 the trail breaker half. Andy is gearing up for his second Ironman in Wisconsin this September.
