Congratulations to Emily Kratz 32, of Pewaukee who ran in the Mercedes Half Marathon today, Sunday February 14th.  She PR'd on a very hilly course in a time a 1:29:50.  While Emily is on her journey to the 2010 Ironman World Championships this October, she will focus on short course racing till the beginning of summer.  Then after June, she will begin her Ironman training.

My plan to kick off the season was at the Huntington Beach half marathon which was today Sunday February 7th.  Friday I ended up with flu like symptoms.  I decided on still going, as who knows it could have just been a 24 hour thing.  Unfortunately did not end up that way, spent the majority of time in bed on Saturday, periodically taking the all so famous pepto and trying to stay hydrated which does not work so well with the flu.  Sunday came and I was finally feeling better, now better here is I finally did not have a nauseous feeling, I could at least eat half a bagel with cream cheese.  So,  I decided to at least start and see what happens.
