LEADING MIDWEST TRIATHLON COACHES PARTNER

Heather Haviland & Bob Hanisch Team Up to Bring Science & Art to Triathlon Success

Milwaukee, WI –Former USA Triathlon Head Coach, Bob Hanisch and owner of Peak Performance Professionals (P3), announces that Professional triathlete and multiple Ironman podium finisher, Heather Haviland, is joining the P3 team.  This marks the merging of two successful professionals in the endurance community to create superior coaching for all abilities in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Both Heather and Bob have successful individual coaching businesses that include numerous age group award winners, World Championship qualifiers, Ironman finishers, as well as first time triathletes.  One new program they will offer is group triathlon coaching.  Starting in spring 2010, the training will include programs for the 2010 Wisconsin Ironman, Racine 70.3 and USA Triathlon Olympic Age Group Nationals.  In addition to offering group coaching, both will continue to offer one-on-one programs and power-based cycling classes at P3’s premier endurance training center.  The center includes 16 CompuTrainers, surround sound, 4 giant high definition screens, 2 Vasa Swim Ergometers, and state of the art performance testing to include VO2 max, anaerobic threshold, and blood lactate.

Hanisch is known for his science-oriented approach to training programs, based on his extensive experience at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.  Additionally, he is a member of the Mount Mary College graduate faculty, where he teaches exercise physiology and sports nutrition.  Previously, Bob taught Anatomy & Physiology at Columbia University in the City of New York.  His career also includes serving as the Senior Medical Exercise Physiologist and Certified Diabetes Educator for 15 years at Columbia Hospital’s Diabetes Treatment Center in Milwaukee.

Bob is thrilled that Heather has joined the P3 multi-disciplinary center which also includes dietetics, massage therapy, and endurance strength training.  Bob said “for years I have been impressed by all the accomplishments that Heather has achieved in her racing and in giving back to the community.  It is inspiring to know that she will bring the same drive and commitment to Peak Performance Professionals (P3).”

Haviland is a six-time All American Triathlete, former USAT Triathlete of the Year and continues to race as a Professional.  “Bob has been a mentor of mine since the beginning of my triathlon career, his support in testing and advice has helped me to reach the level I am at today as an athlete.  I am very excited about what Bob and I will be able to offer together.  Our combined years of experience will allow us to give the best coaching around to endurance athletes of all levels.”   Haviland began coaching in 2004 and is founder of the Team 4 Triathlon Team, which has raised nearly $150,000 for Breast and Gynecological Research.  She is well known for combining her passions for sport and community.

Together, Heather and Bob will provide participants with results-oriented training and fitness plans based on individual goals, abilities and schedules.  The two will also be presenters at the upcoming Great Lakes Multisport Expo January 30 and 31.
