What really is Winning?

Winning is not about headlines and medals. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best athlete and person they can be? Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

What a great quote!  Often times after a race, people ask me "did you win".    The comment makes me smileSmile

We all have questioned can I do this, will I be able to finish the swim, do I have the stamina to do a half ironman, can I push harder to the next competitor in front of me, do I have the energy to get out of bed this morning and even face the day.   My athletes continue to amaze me, with their own wins.  Today one of my athletes complete his first 1.2 mile open water swim where just 5 months ago couldn't finish one lap with out being exhausted.   Last Sunday another athlete took off more than 2 minutes off her 5k time from averaging 7:25's to 6:50's.  The list continues to each of my athletes wins.   Keep the focus on you, where you have come from, where you are now and where you are going.  Enjoy the journey, not the destination!

Yours truly ,
